The rebirth card. Traditionally meant as a sign of letting go of the sins and errors of the past and embracing a better life. The fearsome angel that the card usually presents at the top was here replaced by Sam and Dean. Not traditional angels, that’s for sure, but a sign of John’s redemption nevertheless. Behind, John leaves Hell, with all its demons and human souls, and he fights his way towards light and his sons.
I chose to keep the lower half of the card in a more monochromatic tone, in contrast with the over-colorful upper top, to signal that difference between death and life, between a dark past and a bright future.
